![]() Miss Charlene Jane R. Harrow Eleven candidates representing different high schools in the city vied for the crown and the prestige of being this year's Miss Teen Tourism-Dipolog. This year's candidates were from the Zamboanga del Norte National High School,Saint Mary's Academy, Dipolog Community School, Galas National High School, the Andres Bonifacio College, Saint Vincent's College, the Dipolog City Institute of Technology, the Dipolog Medical Center-Science High School, Sicayab National High School, Punta National High School and Gulayon Integrated School.
Crowned Miss Teen Travel Adventure (2nd runner-up) was Miss Hanna Mae D. Buena of Saint Mary's Academy while Miss Jevenlou U. Ubay of the Dipolog City Institute of Technology was named Miss Teen Eco-Tourism (1st runner-up). The most-coveted title of Miss Teen Tourism-Dipolog 2008 was awarded to Miss Charlene Jane R. Harrow of Andres Bonifacio College who also garnered eight special awards namely: Miss Professionalism, Miss Beautiful Smile, Miss Nature's Spring, Best in Evening Gown, Best Performer, Best in School Uniform, Best Philippine Terno, and Best in Teens Wear. Other candidates who also bagged special awards were Miss Jevenlou U. Ubay as Miss Silky Hair, Miss Hanna Mae D. Buena as Miss Photogenic and Miss Radiant Skin, Miss Rizajane P. Castillon as Best in Talent, and Miss Ivanna G. Marchan as Miss Congeniality. The panel of judges who had the difficult yet fun role of choosing this year's winners was composed of the following personalities: Madam Zenaida Ong, Finance Manager of Industrial Welding Corporation; Mr. George Li, President and Echief Executive Officer of Precision Steel Corporation as well as of the PN Metal Corporation; Madam Rolinda Li, a systems manager of Equicom and at the same time a systems consultant of the Bankers Association of the Phils.; Mr. Henry Elnas, the Regional Coordinator for Special Programs in the Arts under the DepEd Regional Office IX; and its chairman Mr. Edgar S. Balbuena, the President of the Jose Rizal Memorial State College. Adding glitter to the affair was the presence of the Hon. City Mayor Evelyn T. Uy, her husband and former Dipolog city mayor Roberto Y. Uy, some members of the City Council as well as a number of distinguished members of society. The beauty and brains extravaganza, a project of the City Tourism Office in cooperation with the City Schools Division of the Department of Education, is now on its second year of competition. ![]() The 3 Finalists |
