The ZNNHS Parade Band
    Dipolognons were treated to an extravaganza of sights and sounds last Monday, October 6, as nine (9) contingents from the different elementary and high schools in the city took to the streets for the 4th Annual Dahunog sa Dipolog Parade Band Competition.

   Dressed in flamboyant costumes and showing off dexterous movements with their instruments, the school bands paraded from downtown Rizal Avenue through to Quezon Avenue and Gen. Luna Street and culminated at the Dipolog Boulevard where the final showdown took place.

    The elementary level school band competition was participated in by four (4) elementary schools, namely: the Estaka Central School, Sta. Filomena Elementary School, Dipolog Pilot Demonstration School, and the Elementary Department of Saint Vincent's College which coveted the title "Dahunog School Band of the Year 2008" along with the cash prize of P10,000.00 and a Trophy.

    Five (5) high schools likewise vied for top honors in the high school level of the parade band competition which carried prizes of a trophy for each of the top three finishers and cash award of P12,000.00, P10,000.00, and P8,000.00, respectively.

    First place went to the Zamboanga del Norte National High School Band followed by the Saint Vincent's College - High School Department Band, while placing third was the parade band from Saint Mary's Academy.
