DIPOLOG AMONG FEW “BEST PERFORMING CITIES” IN THE COUNTRY

The City of Dipolog added another feather in its cap when it was recently cited as one of the “Best Performing Cities” in the country by the Asian Institute of Management (AIM).

        This development was confirmed by City Mayor Evelyn T. Uy herself after personally receiving the award last June 4, 2008 at the Grand Ballroom Intercontinental Manila in Makati City.
        From among ninety (90) cities all over the country that were evaluated by AIM, only three cities in the entire Mindanao were acclaimed “Most Competitive” among small-sized cities.
        Aside from Dipolog City, the two other cities cited were Tagum City of Davao Province and Surigao City.

The selection was administered based on six factors or indicators, namely: a) dynamism of local autonomy, b) cost of doing business, c) human resources and training, d) infrastructure, e) responsiveness of the LGU to business needs, and f) quality of life of its constituents.
With this development, Mayor Evelyn T. Uy of Dipolog expressed her sincere gratitude to all officials and employees of the city government of Dipolog for their unwavering support and active cooperation in the implementation of the various programs and projects of the local government.
Mayor Uy declared that her administration will continue to do its best in the pursuit of its goals to bring progress and sustainable development to the City of Dipolog.
