Razel Marie T. Eguia
Another honor was again extended to the City of Dipolog and its constituents after a Dipolog lass in the person of Miss Razel Marie T. Eguia, was crowned Miss Philippines-Air during the selection night of Miss Philippines-Earth 2008 Pageant held last May 11, 2008 at Crown Plaza Galeria, Manila.

During the training period of the candidates until their presentation to the media, Miss Eguia charmed the trainors and media personalities because of her facial features fit for a beauty queen and her perfect vital statistics particularly her waistline where she was recognized as the only candidate who possessed the smallest measurement of 23 inches.

Razel, as she is fondly called, is a Dipolognon and the daughter of Mr. And Mrs. Raul & Elizabeth Eguia.
She graduated Bachelor of Science in Accountancy at St. Vincent’s College, Dipolog City magna cum laude.
It may be recalled that Miss Eguia was the 1st runner-up in the P’gsalabuk Festival Queen 2006 search in Dipolog City.
It was the City Tourism Council headed by Miss Josephine B. Leyson that tapped Miss Eguia to officially represent Dipolog to the Miss Philippines-Earth 2008 Pageant.

When asked about how she made it to be one of the 6 finalists, Miss Eguia attributed her success primordially to Divine Providence for guidance and wisdom and to her exposure and knowledge to the various  environmental programs that she gained as a student and as a civic-minded citizen in her locality.
The selection night of the Miss Philippines-Earth 2008 Pageant was personally graced and supported by Mayor Evelyn T. Uy of Dipolog and former Mayor Roberto Y. Uy, the latter’s better-half; 2nd District Representative of Zamboanga del Norte, Congressman Rosendo S. Labadlabad, some staff of the City Tourism Office of Dipolog and other personalities aside from a number of Dipolognons who are now based in Manila.
