The local Government of Dipolog City offers free service for a mass wedding this coming February 14, 2010. The mass wedding is intended for couples who qualify under the Article 34 of the Family Code of the Philippines where in marriage license is no longer needed for both male and female that has been cohabiting or living in for 5 consecutive years without legal impediment.
Couples who can take advantage of the mass wedding will be the first 50 couples, who can register aging from 25 and above. One of the requirements is an affidavit from an attorney at law or an authorized person who can validate that they have been living together as husband and wife for 5 consecutive years.

The Commission on Elections here in Dipolog City has announced that they have already started to accept applicants for registration for the forthcoming 2010 Barangay Elections. The said nationwide registration started last August 4.
