Local Policemen Honored

November 16 - Twenty (20) members of the Dipolog City Police Station were given honors this morning in a short program following the regular Flag Raising Ceremony by the City Government of Dipolog, held at Plaza Magsaysay, this City.

Dipolog City Mayor Evelyn T. Uy personally conferred on each of the local PNP recipient a "Medal of Excellence" given by the PNP Regional Command in Zamboanga City under the leadership of PNP Regional Director Angelo H. Sunglao.

Among those present during the brief awards ceremony was Dipolog Police Chief P/Supt. Reynaldo Mendieta Maclang who assisted the City Mayor giving out the awards, as well a number of officials and employees of the local government of Dipolog.

According to the City Information Office, the awards were given in recognition of the excellent performance of the recipient police personnel in the campaign against illegal drugs.

One noteworthy accomplishment in particular was the recent successful drug buy-bust operation conducted by the members of the Dipolog PNP at Barangay Sta. Filomena which resulted in the apprehension and prosecution of the suspected drug pushers.

OISCA OFFICIALS AND STUDENTS VISITS DIPOLOG ONCE AGAIN

Local officials of the City Government of Dipolog headed by City Mayor Evelyn T. Uy welcomed OISCA Japanese visitors who arrived here in our city last August 16, 2010, .
The 22-man Japanese delegation composed of OISCA officials and students from universities and secondary schools in Japan comprise the Childrens Forest Camp 2010 who came here to Dipolog to conduct Goodwill Mission visit and tree and mangroove planting activities. Read More..

AIP & 20% DEVELOPMENT PLAN BUDGET ALLOCATION INCREASED

The City Development Council (CDC) during its meeting held last August 5, 2010, has earmarked an estimated ten percent (10%) budget increase in its annual investment plan (AIP), and twenty point seventy eight percent (20.78%) increase for the 20% Development Plan for the budget year 2011. Engineer Albert Alimpulos, City Planning and Development Officer said, "the funds would be used to improve/ cater to the local and national priority projects and programs of the three (3) major sectoral groups involved namely: General Public Services, Social Services, and Economic Services, pursuant to the DILG-DBM joint circular No. 1 series of 2005, and as mandated by R.A. 7160, otherwise known as the Local Government Code of 1991."
