The Groundbreaking Ceremony of the Corazon C. Aquino Hospital was successfully held last July 1, during the conduct of the 98th Adlaw sa Dipolog Celebration in the city. Assistant City Planning and Development Officer Engr. Ervin C. Bael disclosed that "the edifice is an initiative of the City Government of Dipolog in consonance with the Performance Governance System (PGS) Vision, making Dipolog City Self-Reliant City by 2030."

Mayor Evelyn T. Uy during her speech revealed that, “the two-storey 50-bed capacity hospital is the realization of a dream made possible through the help of his Excellency President benigno Simeon Aquino III, directed towards achieving the four “A’s  that describe the effectiveness of a hospital’s system which are accessibility, availability, affordability and acceptability”.  

Mayor Uy explained that the Two Hundred Million Peso (P200, 000,000.00) budget for the Corazon C. Aquino Hospital comes from the coffers of the Office of the President with counterpart from the City Government of Dipolog.

Furthermore, Secretary Ona, who was Guest Speaker encouraged all Dipolognons to avail the benefits of PhilHealth specially those families belonging to the poverty line. This is because the national government intends to extend PhilHealth Benefits to the least privileged families especially those living in the far flung areas of the country.

The event was witnessed by Department of Health Secretary Dr. Enrique T. Ona as the  guest of honor, Dipolog City Mayor Evelyn T. Uy, DOH Regional Director Dr. Aristides C. Tan, 2^nd District Representative Rosendo Labadlabad, Department of Public Works and Highways Regional Director Jorge U. Sebastian, Vice Mayor Senen O. Angeles, Dipolog City Councilors, Biasong Barangay Captain Gomercindo Calagui, Local Council of Women, Dipolog City Engineering Officer Engr. Nedilla Magdayao, members of Medical Association of Dipolog, the fourth estate  and employees of the local government of Dipolog.  (CIO-aca)
