DIPOLOG P’GSALABUK FESTIVAL
P’GSALABUK is a Subano term that means "togetherness". In the festival, the City Government of Dipolog aims to showcase the myriad interplay of culture: Muslim, Lumad and the varied and diverse culture of the settlers from all over the Philippines as well as the Spanish, Chinese, American and other Asian culture that have been so meticulously woven and shaped into what is known as the unique Mindanao Tri-people Culture
The festival will feature street dancing in the main avenue of Dipolog City. This will then culminate in a cultural presentation depicting dances involving the different types if people in Mindanao. The concept is UNITY IN DIVERSITY AMONG THE TRI-PEOPLE because as the objectives state, it aims to promote peace and harmony among the three people who call Mindanao their home. Literally translated the festival's title means: “togetherness among three people with diverse culture."
Objectives:

To know more about the people of Mindanao by tracing the common roots of the Muslims, Lumads and Settlers (Christians) through a cultural presentation;

To promote mutual respect, peace and harmony in Mindanao through an appreciation of its rich ethnohistory, culture arts, crafts, traditions, practices, costumes, music, rituals, etc.

To perpetuate traditional dance and music of the Tri-people of Mindanao for the present as well as the future generation of Dipolognons and tourists.
Challenges:

T he festival hopes to minimize if not eliminate prejudices and biases among the tri-people of Mindanao;

Through the festival the people of Mindanao will learn to coexist harmoniously respect and tolerance for one another's differences brought about by differences in culture, traditions, religion, etc.

The P’gsalabuk Tri-people Festival will bring together the Muslims, Lumads and Christians as brothers and sisters with equal dignity and honor as human beings created by one God.

Dipolog City now known as the most peaceful city in Mindanao is the first city in the area to portray unity in diversity through a unique festival that is Cultural, Historical and colorful, a festival that advocates peace and harmony as well as informs and educates the people.
