The Dipolog Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) successfully conducted the official launching of the 24th Mindanao Business Conference (24th Minbizcon) 2015 last Tuesday, February 24, at the Dipolog Airport Function Hall.
The official launching of the 24th Minbizcon kicked off with a motorcade which started at Plaza Magsaysay going along the major streets of Dipolog and ended at the Dipolog Airport where the program and official unveiling of the Minbizcon billboard was done at the airport’s new building.
During the program, airport manager Erlinda de los Reyes delivered the welcome address which was followed by a message from DCCI President, Atty. Paul Gudmalin.
The program was attended by Dipolog Mayor Evelyn T. Uy, Vice Mayor Horacio Velasco, and Vice Governor Senen O. Angeles who represented Governor Roberto Y. Uy. The officials took turns in addressing the audience and made formal the commitment of the city government of Dipolog and the provincial government of Zamboanga del Norte to support the conduct of the Mindanao Business Conference this coming September 2-4, 2015.
Also on hand during the affair was DCCI Chairman Mr. Edwin Capili together with other members of the local chamber, Philippine Airlines (PAL) Manager Mr. Raymond Francis Baylon, Local Council of Women (LCW) President Ms. Josephine Leyson, representatives from the Mindanao Development Authority, members of the local media, and Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry Area Vice President for Mindanao, Ms. Annie O. Ty who likewise delivered an inspirational talk.
During a brief interaction with the local media, AVP-Mindanao Ms. Annie O. Ty said that the upcoming conference will help boost economic activity in Dipolog City with the expected participation of a thousand or more businessmen from around the country.
In response to a query, Ms. Ty stressed that the decision to make Dipolog City the venue of the 24th Mindanao Business Conference was because of the good peace and order situation in the city, the availability of hotels and facilities, and the support of local government units in the area.
For his part, DCCI President Atty. Paul Gudmalin believes that the conduct of the Mindanao Business Conference here would benefit local small businesses and also would-be entrepreneurs as seminars and discussions on various aspects of doing business will be tackled during the conference.
